Inquest opens into teenagers death in Chalkwell Park

An inquest into the death of an 18-year-old, from Whitechapel, who died after police received reports that a group had taken 'unauthorised control' of a small articulated loading vehicle in Southend, has opened at Essex Coroner’s Court.
On 13th June 2026, Essex Police were called to Chalkwell Park after reports surfaced that a group of individuals had taken unauthorised control of a small articulated loading vehicle.
Tallulah Bradford was involved in the incident, sustaining significant injuries, and despite being taken to hospital, she succumbed six days later on 19th June 2026.
The inquest, has been adjourned for four months at the request of Essex Police, who continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
Family Tributes
Tallulah's mother and family shared their grief in a statement: "Tallulah was not only a daughter to me, she was the bestest friend. She was an amazing sister, granddaughter, niece and cousin and was loved by all who knew her."
Her friend Macie said: "Tallulah was more than just a friend to me, she was my best friend who had been by my side since we met at school at the age of five."
Her friend Shannon added: "Tallulah was kind-hearted, caring, generous and most of all the biggest diva."
Her friend Mya expressed: "Tallulah was more than my best friend, she was family. Thank you for filling my life with laughter and unforgettable memories."
Police Investigation
Essex Police have arrested two individuals, an 18-year-old man from Westcliff and a 17-year-old boy in connection with the incident.
Both remain on bail while police urge those with information or footage of the event to come forward and assist the investigation.
