Canvey has been placed under a dispersal order this weekend to prevent anti-social behaviour during the Halloween celebrations.

Active from 4pm on Friday 30th October until 4pm on Sunday 1st November, the order grants officers authority to instruct individuals to leave if they are behaving anti-socially or causing distress to others.

The specified area covers Knightswick Road, Central Wall Road, Elder Tree Road, High Street, May Avenue, Eastern Esplanade, the sea wall, Furtherwick Road, The Avenue, Long Road, Convent Road, Lionel Road, and all roads within these boundaries.

Inspector David Thompson highlighted the purpose of the order, stating it aims to allow everyone to enjoy their Halloween weekend without disruption from anti-social activities.

“It provides the officers on patrol in this area an important and specific power to keep everyone safe,” Inspector Thompson said.
