Residents in Chigwell and nearby areas are experiencing water supply disruptions following a burst water main on Chigwell Road.

The incident has affected various postcodes including E18, E4, IG2, IG4, IG5, IG6, IG7, IG8, IG9, and RM4.

Thames Water teams are actively working to fix the damaged pipeline on Daisy Lane, as well as finalising repairs on Chigwell Road.

The utility provider has set up a bottled water station at the Tesco Superstore on Southend Road, IG8 8GE, for those in need.

Delivery is also being made to individuals registered as water-dependent on the Priority Services Register.

Repair Efforts and Assistance

The water company is dedicated to restoring services quickly and has been working through the night.

Efforts include excavating the damaged sections and focusing resources on the major bursts impacting the area.

While repairing, temporary diversions are in place on Chigwell Road to ensure safety.

Residents are encouraged to follow the diversions and allow extra time for travel.

Upcoming Updates and Water Availability

Thames Water has scheduled further updates throughout 10th August, with reports expected at noon.

Bottled water is available for collection, and residents are urged to take only what they need.

As repairs progress, water pressure might fluctuate but is expected to normalise once the system stabilises.

The water company appreciates the patience and cooperation of the community during these repairs.
