Two women have been convicted of murdering Helen Bloomfield, whose body was discovered in her Braintree home over two years ago.

Helen Bloomfield, 52, was found dead at her residence on Aetheric Road on 19th April 2024. Despite initial suspicions, further tests were carried out after inquiries indicated foul play.

Charlotte James, 29, and Amy Keeley, 40, reportedly boasted to multiple witnesses about killing Helen, according to evidence presented at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Forensic tests revealed Keeley's DNA on several items within the home, including pillow cases and a broken mirror, some of which were stained with blood. James' fingerprints were also found in the flat.

Though they denied involvement during interviews, both were charged with murder and found guilty after a trial.

Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood commented: "No conviction will bring Helen back, but we hope this verdict offers some measure of justice for her loved ones."

James and Keeley are due to be sentenced next week at the same court, and are expected to receive significant sentences.
