Thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was taken during a burglary in Billericay.
The goods were stolen from a property on Second Avenue between 8pm and 9.30pm on Thursday evening (23 October).
Detective Constable Emma Warrick said: “We understand how upsetting a burglary can be and we are actively investigating this incident.
"I would urge anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious around this time to get in touch.
“I also want to encourage people to make sure their own homes are secure. We have lots of advice on our website.
"With the clocks going back this weekend it’s a good idea to plan ahead and ensure your own home is secure.”
