Beaulieu Park Station set to ease congestion in Chelmsford
The new station has begun its operation
Beaulieu Park Station is officially open today, with its aim to reduce congestion at Chelmsford Station, and to support the delivery of up to 14,000 homes, schools and employment areas in the area.
It will be the first new station on the Great Eastern Main Line in over 100 years.
The infrastructure has been called "vital" for Chelmsford's growth.
A journey to London Liverpool Street will take 40 minutes, and a trip to Colchester will take 25 minutes.
The station features three platforms, alongside over 700 parking spaces.
Essex County Council has extended bus lines, like the C11 and C8 to run to Beaulieu Park.
