Conor Brady, a 32-year-old man from Basildon, has been jailed for 10 years with an additional six years on extended licence after targeting over 100 teenage boys online in what police have described as a “horrific and far-reaching” case of sexual exploitation.

Brady was sentenced at Basildon Crown Court on 22nd December after earlier pleading guilty to 47 charges related to crimes committed over several years. These included inciting children to engage in sexual activity, causing the sexual exploitation of children, and distributing child sexual abuse material.

The Police Online Investigation Team (POLIT) received information in November 2022 that Brady had uploaded indecent videos of children to the internet. He was arrested at his address on Long Riding, Basildon, and forensic analysis of his devices exposed the scale of his offending.

Using social media platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat, Brady posed as a teenage girl to deceive boys aged between 13 and 17. He encouraged them to expose themselves or perform sexual acts, which he secretly recorded using screen recording software. Brady also distributed and purchased child sexual abuse material and used multiple online identities to further manipulate his victims.

After a three-year investigation involving interviews and support for numerous victims, Brady admitted to the offences during his court appearance on 24th October 2025.

At sentencing, Judge Samantha Cohen described his actions as "carefully planned" and stated Brady’s methods caused "incalculable harm" to his victims. In addition to his prison sentence, Brady was placed on the sex offenders register and issued a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Investigating officers Detective Sergeant Nicola Hadfield and Detective Sergeant Neale Parker received commendations for their unwavering commitment to the case.

DS Hadfield said, “I want to acknowledge the impact this offending has had on the victims and survivors. Their resilience and fortitude throughout this investigation has been resolute.

“I would say to anyone who has concerns they’ve been targeted in this way to come forward and tell us. We will listen and we will thoroughly investigate."
