Basildon families left homeless after fire thought to have been started by disposable BBQ
A woman, who's house been deemed uninhabitable, says the last few days have been 'a real life nightmare'
A fire, thought to have been started by a disposable barbecue, has ravaged a row of terraced houses near Rookyards in Basildon, leaving multiple families homeless.
Firefighters worked for hours to control the blaze, using an aerial ladder platform to extinguish the flames affecting several roofs.
An investigation carried out has determined that the fire started accidentally.
The fire has severely impacted several families, including Paryss, whose home suffered extensive damage.
Paryss has shared her difficult situation following the devastation, saying, "Unfortunately 24 hours ago my family began living a real life nightmare.
A huge fire causing extreme damage began at my home and has affected all the neighbouring houses. All of our homes have now been deemed uninhabitable and we have all been forced to evacuate, making me and my family now homeless."
Expressing gratitude for any assistance offered, Paryss shared her appeal: "Me and my family would be extremely grateful for any donations, big or small, that can be made at this difficult time to try and help us navigate the future. Thankyou so much for reading ❤️"
