Fatal crash in Aveley: investigations ongoing
An 18-year-old passenger died at the scene
Essex Police is investigating following a fatal collision in Aveley, Essex.
Police were called at 11.05pm on Tuesday evening, with reports of a collision involving two vehicles – a blue Mini Cooper and a black Kia Picanto – in Ship Lane, close to Thurrock Football Club.
The 18-year-old passenger in the Mini died at the scene.
The driver of the Mini, also an 18 year-old man, and the driver of the Kia, a man in his 60s, were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.
While officers investigate, Ship Lane has been closed, which is impacting the A13.
Police are urging drivers to avoid the area, and if they have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage relating to the incident, to get in touch with them, quoting incident 1231 of 20 January.
