Firefighters were called to a light aircraft crash in Stebbing, Essex, this afternoon.

Crews from Dunmow, Newport, Brentwood and Saffron Walden attended and worked alongside Police, the Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance.

One person was helped out of the aircraft and handed into the care of paramedics.

Station Manager Scott Fretton said: “Crews assisted our emergency services colleagues with the casualty. They used an off-road vehicle to dampen down the area around the aircraft as there was a risk it would set alight.”

Emergency services made the scene safe before leaving the area.
