556 speeding drivers captured on camera in one week in Essex
Essex Police is urging all motorists to slow down, adhere to speed limits, and drive responsibly.
Last week, Essex Police's speed enforcement team responded directly to community concerns about speeding in neighbourhoods across the county, resulting in 556 speeding drivers being captured on camera in just one week.
Concerns were raised by residents through public meetings and online reports.
Many also expressed fears about the increased risk of collisions and the serious consequences they can have for everyone involved.
In response, officers carried out targeted enforcement at several locations identified by the public.
In Colchester over two days, 89 offences were recorded, while in the Chelmsford Area 99 offences were recorded in Beaulieu, A131, and Great Baddow.
South Essex: A staggering 318 speeding drivers detected in Hockley, Rayleigh, and Benfleet - and in West Essex, 50 offences recorded in Ingatestone, Margaretting, and Billericay.
