19-year-old woman killed in suspected dog attack in Dunmow

A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control

A woman has died following an incident involving a dog at a house in Dunmow.

The 19-year-old woman was found with serious injuries when emergency services were called to the scene in Leaden Roding at 10.45pm on Friday 10 April. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believed the woman had been attacked by a dog at the property in Long Hide.

A 37-year-old man from Dunmow has been arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death.

He remains in custody, whilst the dog has been seized.
