Reese Witherspoon confirms The Morning Show season 5 has started filming
It also stars Jennifer Aniston and Billy Crudup
Popular TV series The Morning Show is set to return to our screens for a fifth instalment. The show starring Reese Witherspoon, along with Jennifer Aniston and Billy Crudup was renewed for a fifth season ahead of the season four premiere in September 2025.
Now several months later, Reese, who plays Bradley Jackson, a former co-host and news anchor, has shared a behind-the-scenes video of her first day back on the set.
Walking around the set, the words 'First day back on set filming season 5 of The Morning Show' appear on screen, before Reese can be seen saying: "I feel like a good song for this video would be 'Started From The Bottom Now We're Here'.
"It's very important on your first day back to say 'Hello' to everybody," before shouting "Welcome back!" to a car as it drives past.
As Reese continues around the set she high fives the cast and crew, including Jennifer Aniston. Both Reese and Jennifer are later seen sitting at the news desk, as Reese says: "We have breaking news."
Before Jennifer adds: "This is season 5, and we're back."
When was season 5 confirmed?
Apple TV+ confirmed a fifth season for the series a day before the fourth season arrived on the streaming platform. At the time of the announcement, Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+ said: "The Morning Show has been a standout from the very start, debuting as one of the flagship series on Apple TV+.
"It’s been incredibly rewarding to see it not only entertain but also resonate with audiences worldwide. Thanks to the outstanding cast and creative team — led by Jennifer, Reese, Charlotte and Mimi — The Morning Show continues to deliver addictively entertaining and provocative stories that we’ve all come to love. We're excited for viewers to experience the next chapter of this Emmy Award-winning drama."
When will it be released?
It has yet to be confirmed, but is expected to be released in 2027.
Who stars in season 5 of The Morning Show?
Alongside Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Néstor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie and Jon Hamm will be returning for the new season.
Earlier this month, Jeff Daniels was announced to be joining the cast for season 5.
