Beyond Paradise drops first look at series 4 with major guest stars

BBC has released first-look images and casting details for the highly anticipated fourth series of Beyond Paradise, set to land on BBC iPlayer and BBC One later this month!

DI Humphrey Goodman and Martha return to the idyllic coastal town of Shipton Abbott, juggling married life, a search for a new home and a series of baffling new cases.

From a novelist who predicts their own death to a Dark Morris celebration gone wrong, a missing treasure map and rumours of a vengeful mermaid at sea, the new run promises more cosy crime with a twist. Here's your first-look at the upcoming season ⤵️.

What will happen in the fourth series?

The official synopsis reads: 'New mysteries and puzzling cases await DI Humphrey Goodman and the team in Shipton Abbott. Fact and folklore blur as they investigate the death of a novelist who predicted their demise, a magical night of Dark Morris that soon turns sour, a stolen treasure map that suddenly reappears, and the alleged sighting of a vengeful mermaid lurking out at sea.'

Adding: 'DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and Martha (Sally Bretton) launch into married life as they search for a new home, whilst Humphrey wrestles with an impossible decision that may change the lives of everyone at the station forever.'

Fans of the show were quick to show their anticipation on social media, with one user saying: 'Ooh can't wait, wow Susan George ❤️', while another wrote: 'Wow what a line up can't wait'. (sic)

Which guest stars are joining Beyond Paradise in series 4?

Series 4 is packed with guest stars, including Susan George (Straw Dogs), Colin McFarlane (The War Between the Land and the Sea), Michael Cochrane (The Archers), Melanie Walters (Gavin & Stacey), Vincent Franklin (The War Between the Land and the Sea), Alex Macqueen (The Inbetweeners) and Tristan Sturrock (Poldark).

Also joining the series are Andrea Lowe (Sherwood), Rachel Cassidy (Downton Abbey), Emily Stott (Foundation), Rina Mahoney (Happy Valley), Susan Penhaligon (A Fine Romance), James Clay (MobLand), Kenneth Collard (Cuckoo), Narinda Samra (Ackley Bridge) and more.

When does series 4 start?

Though no precise date has been announced, Beyond Paradise Season 4 will premiere later this March. It follows the conclusion of the Death in Paradise 2026 season which aired on 30th January.
