Noah Wyle reacts hilariously to being voted Sexiest Man Alive
The Pitt actor thought it was a prank!

Noah Wyle, the actor known for his roles in ER (Dr John Carter) and The Pitt (Dr Michael 'Robby' Robinavitch), has been crowned People's Sexiest Man Alive. The 55-year-old actor, joined People to chat about the new accolade, and revealed that he originally thought it was "a prank".
"I thought that sounded like a prank - just not in a million years did I think that this would be an honour bestowed on me," Noah told the publication.
However, thankfully it was Noah's wife Sara who managed to convince him it was for real. "She thinks I’m a good guy and that the kind of person that I am and the kind of father I am, the kind of husband I am, is worth promoting." he explained, adding: "She was very pleased that this reflects well on her taste."
Noah also joined Amy Poehler for a chat on her podcast, Good Hang With Amy Poehler, where the pair joked about his new 'appointment', with Amy saying: "I heard from your people that you refuse to come until you're voted Sexiest Man." To which the pair laughed hilariously.
Amy then continued: "How is your administration going to be different (from last year's - Jonathan Bailey)". Watch the clip below...
Back in the 90s when Noah first starred in ER, he and his fellow stars George Clooney, Anthony Edwards and Eriq La Salle appeared on the front cover of People as the Sexy Men of ER. However, while George Clooney has since been named Sexiest Man Alive twice, it's taken around 30 years for Noah to finally been crowned with the honour.
Noah is now back in the limelight, which his Emmy-award winning The Pitt, and he joined us here at Greatest Hits Radio earlier this year, to chat about the popular series and its connection with ER.

Although The Pitt is not directly related to ER, Noah did reveal that it was originally intended to catch up with Dr Carter 15 years later. The actor explained: "I was sitting at home not working during the pandemic like most people, but I was getting a lot of mail from first responders who were telling me how difficult it was in the trenches, but also saying how grateful they were that they had ER to watch when they got home.
"And I just, it didn't sit well with me that was something that was part of my past, that I didn't have anything relevant to offer that community, then and there.
"So I called our executive producer, John Wells, and I said, I know you don't want to do the old show, but I think there's another story to tell. And we kind of talked about how we might catch up to (Dr John) Carter 15 years later to tell that story.
"And then ultimately that proved impossible, but it sort of freed us to tell this other story that we're actually kind of more gratified to tell."
The Pitt has now picked up several Emmys since it started. The first season, released in 2025, won Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Noah Wyle), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Katherine LaNasa).
That was then followed in 2026, with the second season picking up Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Noah Wyle).
The series will be returning in January 2027 for a third season.
