Two men sought after £7,500 e-bike stolen in Midlothian break-in

A break-in at a house in Bonnyrigg has led to the theft of an electric mountain bike worth around £7,500.

It happened on Longmuir Place at about 10pm on Monday.

Two men were seen leaving the area on a small black electric motorbike, with one of them carrying the stolen Santa Cruz Vala e-bike.

Police have said their enquiries are ongoing and are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch.

Detective Inspector Keith Sinclair has said: “Please check any private CCTV covering the area to see if something has been captured that could assist our investigation.

"If you were driving in the area around the time of the housebreaking, please also look over any dash-cam to see if it holds anything which could assist us.

“If you witnessed a small electric motorbike being driven in the Bonnyrigg area on Monday night, please contact us.

“Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3508 of 23 February, 2026, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
