Scotland set up a World Cup second round play-off with Sweden thanks to a 5-2 aggregate win over Czechia in Paisley on Tuesday night.

Scotland, leading 2-0 from the first leg, conceded just three minutes in and were trailing 2-1 at half-time.

Captain Caroline Weir pulled up in the warm-up and was badly missed but returning key player Erin Cuthbert made an impact when she came off the bench at the interval.

Second half goals from Kathleen McGovern and Christie Grimshaw sealed the victory for the biggest win of Melissa Andreatta's tenure in charge.

"I was straight to the players with just pride," said the Australian after the game.

"Pride they could grind and get themselves back in to the game. Pride and joy.

Around 6,500 watched the game at The Marbill Coaches Stadium of St Mirren.

"The atmosphere was fantastic, I thought it was just great.

"They were loud when we needed them to be. I hope people go home and talk about us at work tomorrow morning because we are worthy of your support."

Sweden, who finished third at the World Cup, await in the next stage of qualifying in November after they beat Lithuania 15-0 on aggregate.

Andreatta said of the tie: "We can take a lot of confidence because these games set us up really well for another tough opponent.

"I know we'll be ready and it'll be a massive challenge but once that whistle goes rankings go aside and what's happened in the past goes out the door."

Scotland will travel to Sweden first before the return leg in Scotland.
