Man dies after South Queensferry assault

Police have closed Morison Gardens while enquiries continue

A man has died after he was assaulted in South Queensferry early on Friday morning.

Emergency services were called to Morison Gardens at around 6.10am on 22 May, but the 54 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they are treating the death as suspicious, and there will be a postmortem examination.

A 58 year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday 25 May.

Morison Gardens remains closed, as well as parts of Stewart Terrace while enquiries continue.

There will be additional police patrols in the area, and anyone with concerns is being urged to approach those officers.
