Man dies after early morning assault in South Queensferry
Police are treating the death of a man in South Queensferry as suspicious after an assault in a residential street early this morning.
Emergency services were called to Morison Gardens at around 6.10am on Friday after reports a man had been attacked.
A 54-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 58-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.
Officers remain in the area, with Morison Gardens closed and part of Stewart Terrace also shut while investigations continue.
Additional patrols have been deployed to reassure the local community, with police encouraging anyone with concerns to speak to officers in the area.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
