A man has been arrested and charged in connection with county lines drug offences following a police operation in Livingston.

Officers searched a property in Barclay Way at around 1.30pm on Tuesday where they recovered cannabis and cocaine with an estimated street value of £65,000. A five-figure sum of cash was also seized.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery. He is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Police say enquiries into the incident are continuing.

Detective Sergeant John Irvine said the arrest underlined Police Scotland’s commitment to tackling serious organised crime.

He said: “Taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland and we will continue to use all resources at our disposal to do this.

“Information from the public is crucial. Anyone with information or concerns about drugs in their community should contact Police Scotland on 101.”
