Four more males have been arrested and charged following a disturbance in the Jewel area of Edinburgh.

Police were called to reports of a group with weapons causing a disturbance in an Asda car park around 4.20pm 25 February.

The latest arrests - involving males aged 20, 19, 18 and 15 - bring the total number of people charged in connection with the incident to six.

They face offences including assault, possession of weapons and breach of the peace, and are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.

Two other males, aged 18 and 17, were previously arrested and charged.

No injuries were reported.

Chief Inspector Alison Macdonald said: “This type of violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

“Officers are committed to tackling crime and antisocial behaviour in the local community, and targeted patrols will continue to deter and detect any criminality.”

She also thanked members of the public for their assistance during enquiries.

Police are urging anyone with concerns to speak to local officers or contact them via 101.
