A show-stopping garden from this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show is set to become a permanent feature in Hull. The Songbird Survival Garden, designed by Nicola Oakey to raise awareness of the UK’s declining songbird population, will be relocated to the Neighbourhood Network Community Centre in Bransholme.

Backed by Project Giving Back and supported by Visit Hull & East Yorkshire, the garden will serve as an inspiring community space, promoting biodiversity and conservation. Featuring layered planting, a circular pond, a reclaimed-material birdhouse, and handcrafted songbird sculptures, the garden is designed to reflect the natural habitats birds rely on.

Councillor Rob Pritchard welcomed the garden’s arrival, saying it offers residents a beautiful new outdoor space, while Chris Blacksell of Visit Hull & East Yorkshire called it a unique attraction for nature lovers across the region.

The garden will debut at Chelsea from 22–24 May before opening in Hull this summer.
