Woman, 84, dies after two-vehicle crash on A166 in Stamford Bridge
A car travelling in the wrong carriageway collided with a van
An 84-year-old woman has died following a two-vehicle collision in Stamford Bridge.
Emergency services were called out to the A166 Roman Road at around 2.30pm yesterday (22nd April).
It had been reported that a Ford Fiesta was travelling down the A166 in the opposite carriageway and had collided with a white Mercedes van near the junction with Dolegate.
The 84-year-old woman who died at the scene was a passenger in the Ford.
The driver of the Ford, an 81-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Officers are unaware why the Ford was travelling in the wrong carriageway and are investigating.
They're appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to call 101 quoting log 280 of 22 April.
