A 70-year-old woman has been arrested after reportedly driving her vehicle into a police car at a wind farm on Bridlington Road in Fraisthorpe.

The incident occurred yesterday when officers received reports of a woman refusing to leave the site.

It is claimed she was preventing traffic from entering and leaving the wind farm.

When officers arrived, the woman reportedly left the area in a vehicle, only to return shortly afterwards.

Upon her return, she is believed to have locked herself in her vehicle and turned up the radio volume, allegedly ignoring attempts by officers to communicate with her.

It was then reported that she drove her vehicle into a police car, causing damage.

The woman has been arrested on suspicion of interfering with the operation of key national infrastructure, dangerous driving, criminal damage, and assaulting an emergency worker.

She remains in custody as enquiries continue.
