Wigan player handed massive ban after Challenge Cup Final

The RFL's Match Disciplinary Panel have handed Wigan's second-row forward Sam Walters a massive 7 match ban following an incident in the final minutes of their Challenge Cup Final match on Saturday.

Warriors won the game 40 points to Hull KR's 10 at Wembley.

In the 78th minute, Walters went for a tackle against Hull's Bill Leyland which resulted in Leyland landing on his head.

He was given a red card and was sent off just before the final whistle.

Following the game, the disciplinary panel have assessed the incident and graded it 'Grade F Dangerous Throw/Lift' - giving Walters 35 penalty points.

He'll also now miss the next 7 games for Wigan.
