£2.9m water pipe upgrade to begin in two East Yorkshire villages
The work in Dalton Holme and Lund is expected to take around eight months
Work is set to begin on a £2.9m project to replace water pipes in two East Yorkshire villages.
Yorkshire Water will start upgrading the network in Dalton Holme and Lund from Monday 17 August.
The scheme will replace over 8.6km of clean water pipes
It's hoped the work will reduce the chances of bursts, low water pressure and supply problems in the future.
The work is expected to take around eight months to complete.
Yorkshire Water says traffic management will be in place, with residents and businesses being contacted about any changes.
Jason Farrar, project manager at Yorkshire Water, said: “The existing clean water mains will be replaced with a more robust and resilient network that will lower the risk of bursts and supply interruptions and help save water, in the future.
“We’ve worked with local highways to keep disruption to a minimum.”
Contractors M Group will carry out the work.
