Three people have been found guilty of manslaughter in connection with the death of Army veteran Martin Chadburn, following a brutal assault in Hull city centre.

The attack occurred after Mr Chadburn left The Star pub on Carr Lane in the early hours of 19th April 2026, resulting in a fatal brain injury.

Witnesses reported the group continued to assault him even after he had fallen to the ground, unable to defend himself.

Britney Naylor, Shaytoyia Farrow, and Lukasz Matusiak were convicted following a six-week trial at Hull Crown Court.

Marie Walsh, Senior Crown Prosecutor, expressed hope that the verdict provides some measure of justice for Mr Chadburn's family, emphasising the violent nature of the attack.

The tragic incident started as a minor altercation, involving a further two males, and ended with Mr Chadburn being repeatedly punched and stamped on.

Detective Chief Inspector Leanne Murphy noted the case serves as a stark reminder that violence can escalate rapidly, encouraging people to walk away from confrontations.

Sentencing for the defendants is yet to be scheduled by the court.
