Two teens arrested in Grimsby after suspected stolen vehicle chase

One of them allegedly threatened to harm a police dog

Two teenagers have been arrested in Grimsby after a police chase involving a suspected stolen vehicle.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle on Holyoake Road in Grimsby yesterday evening (13 July).

Two teenager boys reportedly failed to stop and led officers on a chase.

One also allegedly threw a bag which is thought to have had a knuckleduster inside.

Following a short pursuit, they abandoned the vehicle and fled. They were arrested shortly after.

The arrests

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of:

  • theft of a motor vehicle
  • driving without a licence
  • driving without insurance
  • possession of an offensive weapon in a public place
  • threatening to damage or destroy property - after he reportedly threatened to harm a police dog during his arrest
  • and suspicion of possession of class C drugs - after a search during the arrest led to the discovery of class C drugs

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of:

  • theft of a motor vehicle
  • possession of class C drugs
  • and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place
