Teen arrested for carrying knife in Hull's Queen Victoria Square

Armed Police swiftly respond to reports, detaining two boys suspected in the incident

A teenage boy was arrested after being reported for possessing a knife in Queen Victoria Square, Hull, on the evening of Saturday, 30th May 2026.

The Armed Policing Unit responded promptly, arriving just after 8.35pm following reports received at 8.25pm.

Two boys fitting the suspects' descriptions were identified and attempted to flee the scene on an electric bike.

Police swiftly detained both teenagers and seized a quantity of drugs, cash, and a large knife.

A 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife in a public area but has been released on conditional bail while further enquiries continue.

Additionally, a 14-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but was released without charge.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
