A teenager has been arrested after police pursued moped riders suspected of committing burglary in Hull.

The incident began with reports of a break-in on Mulcourt just before 10pm on 6th May, where two men, allegedly wearing balaclavas, forced their way into a property.

The suspects reportedly caused damage to windows before stealing a safe containing cash.

They then fled the scene on a moped.

The riders failed to stop when police requested, resulting in a pursuit by the Roads Policing Unit.

The chase continued until the riders stopped the moped and attempted to flee on foot.

Fortunately, no pedestrians or officers were injured during the incident.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary dwelling with intent to steal, and for failing to stop a mechanically propelled vehicle when directed by a police constable.

He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
