A 47-year-old man remains in police custody following a suspected drug deal in Hull yesterday morning.

Plain clothed officers were in the area of Louis Street and Middleton Street when they saw the man allegedly facilitating a drug deal before heading into Middleton Street Park.

Officers reportedly attempted to stop the man, who then made off in an attempt to escape.

The suspect was detained after failing to climb a wall, and a subsequent search of his bag revealed a quantity of class A drugs and items associated with drug sales.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

He remains in police custody as enquiries continue.
