£600,000 road improvement scheme begins in Beverley

A significant road improvement programme is set to commence in Beverley in August, with East Riding of Yorkshire Council investing £600,000 in road surfacing at seven locations across the town.

Works are scheduled to begin on 3rd August and are expected to span approximately nine weeks, contingent on weather conditions.

The plan includes road closures and sign diversions, with most operations being carried out in the evenings to reduce traffic disruption.

Immediate roadworks will affect New Walkergate, Sow Hill Road, Champney Road, Grovehill Road, Railway Street, Sample Avenue, and York Road.

Councillor Paul West emphasised the council's commitment to improving road conditions, noting efforts to schedule works to mitigate inconveniences for residents.

Works will be conducted by DSD Construction Ltd, allowing access for residents, businesses, and emergency services, as feasible.

Residents are advised to check the East Yorkshire Buses website for updates on service changes due to road closures.
