A woman who found a washed-up prosthetic leg on the Holderness coast says she's thrilled it's been reunited with it's owner, ten months after she lost it.

70-year-old Brenda Ogden lost the leg when she was swimming in Bridlington last year.

"We were just having photos taken when a wave knocked me backwards, and as I fell backwards, my leg went its own sweet way and I ended up on the sea floor", she said.

Elizabeth Rose found the prosthetic leg, which still had a sock on, while on a walk in Holderness.

Elizabeth went back for the leg

Brenda said searches were carried out when she first lost the leg, but to no avail: "everybody looked for it: school children, old people, fishermen".

Elizabeth shared her discovery in a Facebook group, where Brenda saw the post.

"I just thought it was unbelievable, too good to be true.

"Especially where it was as well, it was quite a way away", Brenda said.

Elizabeth went back to collect the leg after hearing its owner had reached out.

"I'm just thrilled to reunite it with Brenda, I'm still chuckling at my own disbelief when I came across it!", Rebecca said.

The leg was washed and cleaned up by 'Lee' before being returned.

Brenda said her, Elizabeth and Lee should get together in celebration: "It'd be nice if we all met up together and had a wee glass of prosecco to celebrate it's return".
