A police dog has assisted an arrest following reports of man carrying knives in Hull.

At around 8.15pm yesterday evening, officers responded to reports of two men involved in a verbal dispute on Hessle Road, Hull, with one of the men reportedly seen carrying two knives.

Officers, supported by the Police Dog Unit, were deployed to the area. A man was spotted on Boulevard, where he was believed to have discarded a knife before reportedly walking away from police.

PD Lottie was deployed, challenged the man, and he was safely detained.

A 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
