Police appeal after 'serious injury' collision near Hedon

Humberside Police is appealing for information following a three-vehicle road traffic collision near Hedon.

It is reported that at around 8am yesterday (Wednesday 4 March), a Blue Vauxhall Meriva was travelling eastbound towards Hedon on the A1033 between the Saltend roundabout and the B1262 roundabout when it is believed to have collided with a White Vauxhall Corsa travelling Westbound towards Hull.

A short time later it is believed the Meriva then collided with a black Mercedes also travelling Westbound towards Hull causing the Mercedes to leave the carriageway coming to a rest in a hedge.

Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the Vauxhall Meriva a 74-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Police say the driver of the Mercedes a 31-year-old woman was also taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

The road was closed at the time to allow emergency services to operate safely and has since been reopened.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam footage or who may have seen the vehicle before or at the time of the collision to contact them on 101 quoting log 63 of 4 March.
