Plans for new roadside services in Brough could create more than 30 jobs
Proposed development would include fuel station, coffee drive-thru and ultra-rapid EV charging.
Plans have been submitted for a new roadside services facility in Brough that could create more than 30 permanent jobs.
The proposal, for land off Stanley Jackson Way, has been put forward by Brookfield Property (Holdings) Ltd.
If approved, the development would include a petrol station with a shop, a drive-through coffee outlet, car wash facilities and a dedicated hub for electric vehicle charging.
The EV hub would feature 10 ultra-rapid 300kW chargers, capable of charging vehicles in around 8 to 20 minutes depending on battery size. Similar chargers are currently more common at motorway service stations.
Planning documents suggest the site could create around 31 permanent jobs once open, along with additional work during the construction phase.
Developers say the scheme would also give residents more choice locally, as there is currently only one petrol station in Brough.
The application is now being considered by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
