Disqualified driver arrested after roadside breath test failure in North Lincolnshire

Police discover vehicle in ditch, leading to multiple charges

Police in North Lincolnshire have arrested a 45-year-old man following a failed roadside breath test.

The arrest occurred on Tuesday, 7th July 2026, when two plain clothed officers spotted a vehicle in a ditch on the B1207 along Ermine Street between Winterton and Appleby.

On approaching the scene, officers found a man nearby with what they suspected to be the car keys.

A roadside breath test was administered, which the man failed.

Further enquiries revealed that the man, in his forties, was disqualified from driving.

The individual was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, driving whilst disqualified, and driving without insurance.

He remains in police custody, aiding with ongoing enquiries.
