Two arrested following modern slavery investigation in Hull

A man and woman have been arrested as part of an investigation into modern slavery in Hull.

Officers conducted a warrant at a property in Cotterdale, Hull this morning (27 April) after months of gathering information.

They found £13,000 in cash and gold and silver bullions worth an estimated £175,000.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Section One Modern Slavery Act offences and money laundering.

A 33-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

They both remain in custody.
