An Immingham man's been sentenced to five years and six months in prison for sexual activity with a girl under 16 while she slept.

29 year old Kane Fox from Margaret Street pled guilty at a previous court date and was sentenced following his appearance at Hull Crown Court on Friday 17th April 2026.

Detectives began their investigation when they received a third-party report stating that a young girl had been raped by Fox on the evening of 26th October 2024.

The girl revealed to her family the following day that she had been at a house party the previous night, where she woke up to find Fox in bed with her and realised that he had engaged in sexual activity with her while she was asleep.

At the time, Fox was already on bail for dangerous driving offences committed in Lincoln in August 2024, where he drove a stolen vehicle and collided with two cars after failing to stop for police.

Fox was arrested and interviewed on 28th October 2024 but refused to comment and was conditionally bailed as inquiries continued.

Following a comprehensive investigation, detectives were able to forensically link Fox to the victim. He was rearrested at his home in Immingham on 6th February 2026.

Detective Constable Jason Carter, who led the investigation, emphasised the significant impact on the victim.

“Fox took advantage of a young girl to which that trauma will now stay with her for the rest of her life.

“This has been a complex and lengthy investigation, and I would like to commend the victim for her bravery in coming forward and cooperating whilst we ensured we had strong evidence against Fox.

“It is thanks to her bravery he is now behind bars and will face the consequences of his actions.

“We take all reports of sexual offences, both recent and non-recent, extremely seriously and will continue to seek justice for those who have suffered at the hands of individuals like Fox.

“No matter your age or gender, or whether the offences took place yesterday or 30 years ago, we would encourage you to tell someone you trust and when you are ready, report it to the police.”
