Man in critical condition following serious assault in Hull

Emergency services were called to the Spring Bank area late on Thursday night

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was found with life-threatening injuries in Hull.

Humberside Police believe the 33 year old was attacked prior to being discovered on Spring Bank at around 11.50pm on Thursday night (11th September 2025).

He suffered life-threatening head injuries.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Detective Inspector Lloyd Sharkett said:

“A scene guard was put in place on Spring Bank whilst the investigation progressed, this has now been lifted. The local community can expect to see a continued police presence in and around the area over the course of the weekend.

“At this time, we believe the attacker knew the victim, but our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances, we would urge anyone with any information or concerns, to please speak to officers whilst they’re out and about.
