Man arrested after stolen motorbike pursuit in East Riding

Roads Policing Team recover vehicle in Howden

A man has been arrested after the Roads Policing Team in East Riding of Yorkshire recovered a stolen motorbike on Boothferry Road in Howden.

Officers observed the motorbike with no registration plate at approximately 12:25pm on 13th May.

The police requested the vehicle to stop; however, it reportedly failed to comply, leading to a pursuit towards the North Yorkshire area.

The vehicle eventually stopped in Balne, where the suspect attempted to escape but was promptly detained by the officers.

Upon investigation, the motorbike was confirmed stolen.

During the search, a small quantity of drugs was found.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges, including failure to comply with an order to stop, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and a licence, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of class A drugs, drug driving, and being in charge of a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police are urging anyone with associated information to come forward.
