Man arrested after reportedly reversing into police car in North Lincs pursuit

He also failed a roadside drugs wipe

A 42-year-old man has been arrested following a police pursuit where a police car was reportedly reversed into several times.

Officers were conducting patrols on Queens Road in Barnetby Le Wold last night (16th March) when they spotted a suspected cloned vehicle.

The driver failed to stop and a pursuit ensued.

He allegedly reversed into the police car several times and damaged a road sign.

The driver then left the vehicle and set it on fire, officers say.

He was arrested after trying to run, and failed a roadside drugs wipe.

The man had been arrested on suspicion of:

  • dangerous driving
  • failing to stop
  • criminal damage
  • driving whilst under the influence of drugs
  • driving whilst disqualified
  • theft of a motor vehicle
  • arson with intent to endanger life
  • and possession of class B drugs
