Man arrested after car driven 'erratically' in Hull

The 44-year-old is being questioned for a number of driving offences

A man has been arrested after police spotted a car being driven erratically in Hull.

The vehicle was seen on Hall Road at around 12.30am this morning (25 June). The driver reportedly failed to stop for officers, leading to a short pursuit.

The driver then abandoned the car near to Nashcourt and fled on foot.

A 44-year-old man was quickly detained and arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, drug driving, two counts of theft, driving a vehicle with insufficient tyre tread, and possession of an offensive weapon.

He remains in police custody.
