Large fire near Grimsby railway causes train service disruptions
Emergency services tackle blaze; public advised to avoid area
A significant fire next to a railway line near Grimsby Town station prompted delays to several train services as emergency crews worked to manage the situation.
The blaze on Sidings Road saw seven fire crews and specialist vehicles deployed to tackle the flames.
Humberside Fire & Rescue Service requested the public avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed due to safety concerns.
The fire affected train services operated by East Midlands Railway and TransPennine Express, disrupting routes between Cleethorpes and Barton-on-Humber, as well as Cleethorpes and Liverpool Lime Street.
National Rail reported the disruption at 19:37 on Sunday, 2nd August, with normal services resuming by 21:01.
