Former Hull youth worker jailed for sex offences against seven girls
He's been jailed for over five years
A former youth worker from Hull has been jailed for five-and-a-half years after sexually abusing seven teenage girls over a 10-year period.
After a 13-day trial, Jacob Agnew, 30, from east Hull, was found guilty of:
- four counts of sexual activity with a child
- sexual assault
- and causing a child to engage in sexual activity
He previously pleaded guilty to another four counts of sexual activity with a child, and fraud.
The court heard Agnew abused his position of trust to target girls aged between 14 and 17 between 2012 and 2022.
Detective Inspector Tim Hudson from Humberside Police said that when concerns were raised about him, Agnew "used his manipulative charm to claim the children were attracted to him, that they were fabricating stories, and that he was the victim."
Agnew was also given a five-year restraining order covering all of his victims, will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life and has been barred from working with children or in youth settings for life.
