A weeklong operation by Humberside Police has resulted in the arrest of 16 individuals suspected of involvement in County Lines drug dealing and child exploitation.

The operation, held from 2nd to 8th March as part of a national crackdown on organised crime, involved multiple departments including Organised Crime Teams and Neighbourhood Policing Teams.

During the operation, police executed warrants, conducted patrols and stopped vehicles to target those causing harm through serious organised crime.

Officers seized over £3,000 worth of suspected drugs, more than £14,000 in cash, and 38 mobile phones believed to be linked to drug supply.

Weapons, including a machete and an air rifle, were also recovered, along with assets thought to be tied to the Proceeds of Crime, such as two vehicles.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Swaby, Humberside Police’s lead for County Lines Intensification Week, explained the operation focuses on drug networks where outsiders set up drug supply using phone lines in local areas.

He said, “County Lines will specifically target young people,” highlighting the importance of safeguarding vulnerable members of the community.

Humberside Police urges the public to report suspected child exploitation or drug activities via their non-emergency 101 number or to Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.

For situations where someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
