The Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust has been ranked among the best performing in England. The Trust has secured 7th place in a league table ranking Mental Health and Community Trusts.

The Trust has now been placed in the highest of four segments on the league table. Being in segment one is more than just a national rating, it gives Trusts greater independence in planning and delivering their services.

The Trust covers a large part of the region, including Hull, the East Riding, Whitby, Scarborough and Ryedale, as well as parts of North and North-East Lincolnshire. In addition to being in the top segment nationally, the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust has also seen success closer to home. By coming in 7th place, the Trust is the highest rated across the Humber and North Yorkshire region in its category.

Trusts are assessed quarterly against key performance criteria, such as waiting times and delivery of national priorities. Having been introduced by the Labour Government in a bid to raise standards, the new NHS league tables “will identify where urgent support is needed and allow high-performing areas to share best practices with others, taking the best of the NHS to the rest of the NHS,” according to the Health Secretary, Wes Streeting.

Michele Moran, Chief Executive at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust has celebrated the new ranking. She has said: “These results are hugely encouraging, and we are delighted to be in the highest possible segment nationally.

“This recognition of our staff and services is well deserved and we acknowledge the contribution of every team and staff member. Whilst the results can only ever capture part of the picture, we are committed to build on this progress and continue to provide the highest quality, safe care for our patients and communities.”
