A woman has been charged after a theft at a shop on Hessle Road in Hull.

Lauren Wood, 31-years-old, of no fixed abode has been charged with two counts of shop theft, and possession of class A drugs, and was remanded into custody to appear at Hull Magistrates Court this morning.

Officers were called to reports of a theft in progress at a shop on Hessle Road in Hull just after 3pm yesterday afternoon (Monday, 4 July).

It is reported an off-duty police officer detained a woman suspected to have attempted to steal clothing from a store.

Officers were deployed and subsequently arrested the woman on suspicion of two counts of shop theft, possession of class A drugs, and failing to appear at court.
