Hull Royal Infirmary is tightening security overnight
The main atrium doors will be locked from 12am until 6am from March 9
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole hospitals are stepping up security, as Hull Royal Infirmary locks its main entrance overnight from midnight to six starting next Monday (9 March).
It’s part of work to make public buildings safer under new rules known as Martyn’s Law, brought in after the Manchester Arena attack.
Staff can still use the main doors, but visitors will need to use a buzzer or go through emergency care.
Hospital bosses say it will help protect staff and patients, and cut down on people entering without a reason.
