The event will take place at East Park on Sunday, July 12, in partnership with Hull KR, the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Hull City Council.

Organisers say the 10K is about more than running, with the event aiming to raise awareness, fund vital support and bring the city together for those affected by MND.

People are being encouraged to take part in memory of someone they have lost, in support of someone they know, or simply to back an important cause.

As well as the run, the day will include family-friendly activities, with organisers hoping the event will bring people from across Hull together.

A spokesperson for the event said:

“This 10K is about more than running — it’s about raising awareness, funding vital support, and bringing Hull together with the first run and family fun day dedicated to standing behind those affected by Motor Neurone Disease.

“So if you’d like to run for someone you know, or someone you have lost, or if you are feeling inspired to support a great cause, tie up your laces, tell your friends, bring your family and sign up now.”
